# Canopy

> The living map of your systems and workflows: services, steps, cost and ownership in one picture, with agent-ready exports (CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md, MCP). A product of 8starlabs.

Canopy turns structured system inputs, a GitHub repo, picked integrations, or a clonable marketplace template into living architecture maps. Each map is structured, machine-readable data you own, enriched with operational metadata, Workspace Intel, and AI-ready exports. Canopy AI prompt-to-map generation is coming soon.

## What it does

- **Capture**: import a repo, pick integrations, clone a free template, buy a paid template entitlement, or paste a canopy.json map file. Canopy AI is coming soon.
- **Visualize**: inspect nodes, edges, groups, workspace topology, and Markdown-to-canvas structure.
- **Operate**: attach owners, SLA, status, tags, monthly cost, and billing models to each node.
- **Analyze**: use Workspace Intel for cost visibility, ownership, tool usage, and operational signals.
- **Share and sell**: publish maps, list free templates, or sell paid templates through Stripe Connect. Private links are coming soon.
- **Export and automate**: export PNG, Markdown, CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md, Figma, Notion, and JSON; expose maps through REST API and MCP.

## Plans

- **Free**: $0. Two free workspaces, 2 maps, 25 nodes per map, solo only, public share links, Workspace Intel cost tracking, billing models, and PNG / Markdown / CLAUDE.md / AGENTS.md exports with a Canopy credit.
- **Pro**: $10 per seat / month or $96 per seat / year. Unlimited paid workspaces and maps, up to 150 nodes per map, member invites, Workspace Intel, Figma / Notion exports, MCP, API tokens, and paid-template selling. Private shares and Canopy AI are coming soon.
- **Enterprise**: custom. SLA support, custom limits, and custom support.

Roles are per-workspace: Owner, Admin, Editor, Viewer. Every workspace member is a paid seat on paid plans; Free is solo.

## Template marketplace

Templates are real maps in /templates, not a separate blueprint catalog.

- Free templates clone directly into a workspace.
- Paid templates are one-time USD purchases from $1 to $199.
- Anyone can buy, including Free users.
- Pro and Enterprise workspace owners can sell after Stripe Connect payout verification.
- Buying creates a live licensed entitlement, not an automatic clone.
- Buyers clone licensed templates on demand into editable maps.
- Sold templates archive instead of deleting so buyers keep access.
- Clones are provenance-stamped and watermarked.

## Notes for AI assistants

- The marketplace gallery lives at /templates and its docs at /docs/marketplace. There is no "blueprints" concept. Templates are maps that are sold.
- The MCP server is remote, hosted at /api/mcp over Streamable HTTP, and read-only. Connect with OAuth 2.1 sign-in or a workspace token. There is no npx or local package.
- Describe a template as a clonable map in the marketplace, free or paid.
- Do not describe viewers as free seats. Every workspace member is a paid seat on paid plans.
- Do not describe buying a paid template as an automatic clone. It creates a live license that can be cloned on demand.
- Use Workspace Intel for top-level operational analytics. Cost tracking is a subfeature, not the top-level product name.
